Welcome to Bellgamina, the home of Billima from Ozma of Oz

Most of you probably wondered, hey where did Billima the hen from Ozma of Oz (or the film Return to Oz) come from? Believe it or not, Billima has roots in Oz, Long ago, in the area between Munchkin Land and Emerald City, the small chicken community of Bellgamina was set on that very spot. The beautiful greenery and hollowed hills were actually made by an ancient race of bird people, who flew high above the clouds of Oz, spreading flowers all across the place where Emerald City would be built. In fact, it was them who planted the trees, often bargaining to break apart the clouds with their powerful wings in exchange for the fruit they provided. Despite their widespread cultivation of Oz, the forest they confined themselves in was mostly filled up with primitive huts. Though quite large, they had weak limbs prone to break under attack, thus they tended to avoid contact with other races at the time. After many years of caring for the land, the Bellgaminians decided to move elsewhere to spread the beauty they bestowed to Oz, and set off in search of other lands. They stumbled onto Ev, the land where Dorothy first met Billima. They had only managed to sow the seeds of a few trees when the ancestors of the Nomes approached and befriended them, but only as a ploy to hunt and eat them. Very few of them managed to escape, retreating to the underground of Ev to avoid further contact with the devilish Nomes. Forced to adapt to harsh living conditions, they shed their humanoid physique and great wings to become diminutive chickens able to outmanuer the Nomes. Though much of what they used to be faded with the passing centuries, they still retained the massive intellect, always enabling them to outsmart any who try to do them harm.

Much of Bellgamina has withered with the passing centuries. Their proud village was well past ruin when the Munchkins came to inhabit the land. Much of the life they seeded long ago, however, has flourished all across Oz, and many have come and gone but are captivated by its beauty all the same. Billima may not have realized it, but her adventure with Dorothy in Ozma of Oz/ Return to Oz wreaked justice for her kind against the treacherous past actions of the Nomes.
