Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding December 4, 2017 Final Project: Xenar 242 Theme Park Xenar 242 has one theme park. A very nationalistic theme park. Children of all ages are welcome, and it's a place adults can relax at at eating establishments by the opening and a space deck on the roof. The first room that you enter is a simulation of the first ship leaving Earth, in search of other planets. The guide explains how they traveled to different systems that were hostile, barren, or radioactive while the room changes around them and shows what these planets looked like in crisp holographic detail (with a full color spectrum and no scan lines).  Finally, the simulation jolts, letting them all relive the same feeling the first humans had as they landed on Xenar 242 for the first time. The doors opens to a wide room filled with different attractions fashioned after the colony's history. Their used to be a shooting range depicting the events of the war between hu mans and Xenri
Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding November 28, 2017 Reaction to Down and Out I see this as a guide for advertising your product and covering the tenants of what makes it yours to begin with. The first part of the text was very reminiscent of commercials I used to watch on TV when I was younger. I imagine anyone doing creative works would want to know if their piece was a collective effort, a derivative piece, ot an original that has the proper Copyright. Personally, I think having elements of all three is the key to finding success with a broad audience. People always say they want something new, but they also want something grounded in familiarity that tempts them to be led into something original. I connected with the first trip to Disney World. I can imagine it must be strange for an adult seeing the place (I was three the last time I was there). In a perfect world, something like Disney World must be like a joke to them. It's undoubtedly a great place, a place where c
Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding November 20, 2017 Theme Park Concept My idea is having a floating theme park over the Pacific Ocean. Patrons will fly in (to Hawaii or whatever island its located on) and get the full experience of a water park and aquarium combined into one. The park is set up so the pathways connecting each ride on the surface is see through. Things like the wave pool, playground,  and other rides are mostly the same as any other park. Slides, however, act like pathways that go beneath the surface and over the undersea life exhibits, which will be located below the park. There are opportunities to swim with the fish if they are 16 years old or older and if anyone younger has someone above that age limit as a supervisor. The entrance to the park will be the aquarium, with the actual water park in the back. People can go straight there or choose to follow a guide into exhibits and a viewing area below the structure. There are no nets, allowing sea creatures to c
Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding October 30, 2017 Xenar- 242 Society: Crime and Punishment Crime is classified as any action that threatens the natural order or citizens of Xenar. Despite its cutthroat capitalist sense, every being who occupies living space has high value to corporations or Special Forces to be trained since population has to be maintained.  Intermediates are essentially judge, jury, and executioners to any who oppose their code. These renegade cops are given unlimited authority to either kill or bring in perpetrators in order to be scanned and tested by different corporations  in order to find a place in society. Sometimes, this can lead to underprivileged citizens gain education and training for prestigious  jobs. Unfortunately for those less inclined to follow Xenar's "Working together to create a better future for Xenar," these are the people who get bottom of the barrel jobs like tech repairman or space miner (think the c
Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding October 24, 2017 Xenar’s Culture A culture centered on a hub for all the known alien races in the galaxy to do business. Everything is based around trading resources, knowledge, or services to another for personal benefit. Intermediates serve as the security force; special police units with authority to shoot to kill if deemed a threat to public safety. A council made up of five representatives is in charge of government.   Their decisions are based solely around logic. Food comes from processing plants (essentially creating raw vitamins and nutrients and transforming it into the different forms, like taking gray paste and zapping it to look and taste like a burger, but still carry the cultivated vitamins. Most people prefer ordering food from off world colonies. Of course, not everyone is happy with a capitalist focused culture. There’s a second political group who seek to make everything center around the nation as a whole where all ar
Randy Mootooveran Worldbuilding October 8, 2017 Welcome to Planet Xeran- 242 Founded in the year 2124, Xeran is part of a collective cluster of systems called Inghormas . Contrary to popular belief, Xeran is not a moon. While its moon Anghara is quite large for a moon. Xeran was much bigger than it currently is. Due to its distance from its red dwarf sun, the climate is locked at subzero temperatures of 167 degrees below kelvin. Mostly rock on its surface, the planet often falls victim to passing asteroids and space debris given its large center of gravity. Damage is clearly visible with numerous craters along the surface. However, the mantle remains mostly unaffected by these impacts. Originally desolate, the planet is now host to an AI that survived the largest crater on Xeran- 242’s surface caused by a crashed space station. In this isolated and controlled environment, the AI has created a field that surrounds the crash site at an incubation- like t
Randy Mootooveran World building September 24, 2017 Alternate take of  From the year 1333 onward, Japan was a splintered, chaotic mess. All of the land was divided between warring states: Takeda, Uesugi, and Hojo claiming dominion in the East and Ouchi Mori, and Hosokawa ruling the West. All were glad to fight one another for territory and resources. One day, a kingdom rose in the East. Out of the Dragon's Triangle came a legion of warriors who called themselves the Lougai. At first glance, they seemed like any other samurai warriors, but their true terror became known as they shed their human skin and took on the forms of beasts. Lizards that had sprouted wings and breathed flame and wild beasts twice as tall as the average man and five times as wide. An all matter of dark creatures poured forth from cracks in the earth their warriors created, slaughtering all who opposed them.  There was one man in Hosokawa, one of the few samurai who reframed from sailing to the curse
